Border Collie Breeder in Maryland
Welcome to Riverside Collies-n-Critters, where our love for Border Collies meets our family’s passion for animals and country living. We are a family of five raising Border Collies—and a few other critters—on our small rural homestead in Huntingtown, Maryland. Surrounded by the beauty of Southern Maryland, we strive to raise healthy, intelligent, and well-rounded dogs that thrive both as companions and as active family members.
Our journey began in 2023 when we decided to turn our lifelong admiration for Border Collies into a commitment to responsibly breed and raise them. Our dogs live in our home and are part of our daily family life, where they are socialized with children, chickens, goats, and other dogs. They enjoy plenty of adventures outdoors, including playtime along the scenic Patuxent River.
At Riverside Collies-n-Critters, we take pride in producing puppies that are loving, athletic, and ready to adapt to a variety of lifestyles—from farm life to family life. Each pup is raised with care, attention, and affection, ensuring they are healthy, confident, and well-prepared to become cherished members of their new homes.

Our Breeding Philosophy
We believe in breeding Border Collies that are not only beautiful and athletic, but also healthy, intelligent, and balanced in temperament. Our focus is on producing dogs that thrive in a variety of environments—whether working on the farm, competing in dog sports, playing with the family, or snuggling on the couch.
Our dogs are:
- Health tested and selectively bred for sound genetics
- Raised with children, other pets, and everyday household noises
- Given early exposure to basic training, crate comfort, and outdoor experiences
- Placed in homes that match their energy and personality
Louis, our male, is AKC registered and the grandson of Graphite-2021 AKC National Champ. He is son to Tribute who has ranked 4th in the nation in 2024 (check him out in the video with his amazing owner Paulena) and placed 2nd in the nation in 2025. Louis enjoys dock diving for fun, he loves fetch, and is working to compete in AKC fast cat, watching and hearding the goats.
Winnie, Ahmaya, and Nala, our three females, are AKC registered (Ahmaya and Nala) and ABCA (Winnie) lineage. All dogs have been DNA tested. Winnie is OFA certified for hips, knees, and elbows and Nala and Ahmaya are now over two years of age and will be completing their OFA certifications soon.
More Than Just Dogs
The “Critters” part of our name isn’t just for fun—we also keep a few friendly farm animals on our property, including goats, chickens, and the occasional stray barn cat roaming the properties in our area. They play a role in helping us expose our puppies to new sights, smells, and sounds, helping them become confident and adaptable.
